Belli's Tips to Prevent and Treat Diaper Rash
Just got back from Alaska where the temperatures were hotter than they've been in 37 years. Makes me just a tad nervous about global warming. A little “fun in the sun” can quickly turn sour and cause summertime skin woes for our little ones. For those of us with newborns, it's really important to pay attention to the skin for ailments ranging from sunburns to irritations.
So, with these hot summer months among us, I thought I'd take the opportunity to pass along Belli’s Tips for the Best Remedies for Diaper Rash:
o Check your baby's diaper every hour and change it often-- as soon as it's wet or soiled, especially on hot humid days and after pool time
o Clean your baby's bottom at each diaper change. Use plain warm (not hot) water with or without a very mild soap
o Allow your baby's skin to dry before putting on a clean diaper
o Apply a diaper rash ointment like Protect Me Diaper Rash Cream liberally as often as necessary with each diaper change to protect your baby's skin from moisture
o Change the type of wipes, diapers or soap you're using
