Breast Feeding Blog
So we have all been very busy planning for next weeks PARTY (more info to come). Also buzzing around the office is the latest passionate views about breastfeeding. It seems as though we are unanimous here in the office about breast feeding--we hold firm to the belief that women need to choose what is best for them and their baby and that at times there are circumstances where bottle feeding with formula would be the best choice for mom and baby . GASP Take for example my sister--she has epilepsy and the medication she takes to keep siezures at bay is contraindicated for nursing. For her--I think she is right for taking her medication and bottle feeding. She is an amazing mother and loves her children no less than those of us who breast feed our little ones.
We were enlightened this week reading a jezebel.com piece on friends who nurse each others babies and how it's quite the bonding experience for these moms. As we prepare for national Breast Feeding Awareness Week I hope we can all remember that all new mother's need our compassionate support and not critical judgments. For those moms who are nursing we praise you and for those with sore dry bleeding nipples--we recommend Belli's Pure Comfort Nursing Cream.

I loooooove stewie on peter! Family Guy is one of my FAVES!!
I didn't know such an awareness week existed... Having breastfed my first kid I can look back and say I'm glad I did it but if/when I have another kid I'm not so sure I would do it again. I think it is wrong for anyone to assume the mother is being selfish if she turns down breastfeeding, medical excuses or no. I was a bottle fed babe and I think I turned out ok...
That said, I'm glad you put the plug in for the Belli Nursing Cream as that was a lifesaver for me. It helped me get through those days when I just wanted to quit breastfeeding.
