Phthalates
The buzz word of the day is "phthalates". There was a report released today that indicates that phthalates may be dangerous and cause problems with reproductive development. Phthalates are found in a number of sources including toys and even skin care.
The experts at Belli have known about the risks of xenoestrogens for several years, and were able to use that information to help formulate our products. Mothers can feel completely confident knowing that the Belli Baby collection contains only natural fragrances, and is completely free of phthalates.
In fact, Belli Baby goes a step further by excluding ALL known xenoestrogens for our formulations. A short lost of "red flagged" ingredients includes phthalates, paraben preservatives (methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben) lavender oil, tea tree oil, and the chemical UV sunscreens (benzophenone, oxybenzone, octyl-methoxycinnamate, PABA).
Belli also avoids using plastics in our packaging which are known to contain xenoestrogens such as BPA (bisphenol A) and PVC. You can tell which type of plastic is used by looking at the recycle code on the bottom of the bottle, which has a number with a triangle around it: number 7 (BPA) and number 3 (PVC).
We hope this information helps, and that you can feel even more confident that Belli is the safest skin care for everyone in your family! Belli-100% Phalate Free and 100% Free of all OTHER xenoestrogens.

Thank you for making the safest skin care for babies, and moms!
OOPS! I put this in the wrong spot!
You say that "In fact, Belli Baby goes a step further by excluding ALL known xenoestrogens for our formulations." yet your products contain lavender oils! I'm not sure I understand this claim. Thanks!
Hi Jannie, thank you so much for taking the time to read our blog, and asking such a thoughtful question.
This particular blog post concerning "phthalates" is actually in reference to our Belli BABY products. They are in fact free of phthalates and all other xenoestrogens.
You will, however, find lavender in a few of our best-selling pregnancy products.
1) Lavender passes our teratology screening process cleanly. This means, lavender is safe for pregnancy as it has never been linked to bith defects. This teratology screening process is why Belli is #1 recommended by OB/GYNS for safety. For more on teratogens check out the "What is Terology" section of our blog, or our website.
2) Lavender eases nausea, aroma sensitivies and is soothing to the senses.
I hope this helps. If you have any additional questions regarding ingredients, or the science of teratology, please do not hesitate to leave another post, or you can contact us directly. Go to our website for a link to email Dr. Rubin directly. He loves to share his ingredient expertise with our clients! Or you can email info@bellicosmetics. com, and I can get back to you personally.
